jen and i on a walk around lake harriet in minneapolis…i miss summer in minnesota

I miss Jen a lot too. It can get long over here without somebody to cuddle and remind you what it’s like to have somebody who really cares about you. Damn that Atlantic Ocean, I’d drive back right now if it weren’t for all that water.
my sister Krista and her boyfriend (my friend) Eric

While the wedding party, which included Krista and I were out riding around in the limo, Eric and Jen went bar hopping and won some NY Strips in a meat raffle… Unfortunately, I didn’t ever get to taste any of that.
back home today, again. leaving tomorrow, again.
Today I said farewell to Boston and loaded up for Minneapolis. Very uneventful, except for the traffic, my headache and the lines at the airport. I think I’m going to attach a bike bell to the handle of my suitcase, lets see if that works. People just do not pay attention to what’s going on sometimes. It’s quite sad. I had a very polite cab driver, but man did he want to talk, and he had an accent, I was having a hard time understanding him, so I politely told him I needed to check my voicemail, which was true, but, I also listened to all my saved messages, the weather, the time, twice and finally the duck that quacks on AFLAC’s 800 number. I should have just put my iPod headphones on…
When I got to the airport, there were a group of people who were just lurking about and were very slow and scattered just far enough to not look like they’re together, but still close enough to talk and make it next to impossible and uncomfortable to pass between them. I’ll admit it, this kind of inconsideration (that’s a word, right? Yes it is, thanks Dashboard Dictionary), back to the matter. This kind of inconsideration drives me crazy, so I said something, “Would it be possible for you %$#@!s to spread out a bit more and block the whole concourse? Some people are still getting through?” ok, that’s what I’d like to say, it was actually “Would it be possible for you folks to stand to one side, so people can get through a little easier”. I got an attaboy from a timid business traveler 40ft later. And Finally, the headache, well you know that place called The Littlest Bar, I told you I was going to? Let’s just say, size isn’t everything. Thank You, Thank You, I’ll be here all week, literally.
breaking news…
I just thought I’d update you all on the one known as TDC, she made my jaw drop today with two things, very very uncommon for her. Well, it’s uncommon for her to have two things at the same time and save me the extra trip, usually it’s just when I get back, or actually commit to that delicious pasta dinner… OK, first, she wants to backup her data, so if something goes wrong or (get this) she wants a different computer. Second, she wants to upgrade her computer to “take full advantage of this tiger thingy” I had to laugh, the best part is one of the PC users asking when I was going to install it on their computer, I felt really bad, because they sort of tear up when you break their heart. “The problem is, that’s a PC….” I may sound bitter, or tech this, tech that, but trust me, it really is that bad… Anyhow, the news is, all the users who are “opportunities” for me are starting to come around. I’ll have them all sending emails and printing documents by themselves in no time. Best to All, I’m off to Minnesota…
my first (and last) boston show
So today we loaded into the Fleet Center in Boston. It’s your average arena, with the exception we’re officed in a huge cube in the loading dock area. Our power comes from a single 10 Gauge extension cord, so I didn’t plug in the tanning bed or carousel, the day is now stuck being boring. I’m actually excited, because I have to leave today for my little brother’s wedding this weekend. This being said, I had a shadow today that I was “training” to kind of fill the void and offer backup while I’m gone. He’s a cool guy and hopefully I won’t hear from him, but just in case my phone will be buried in a coffee can out front of my new place. OK, so I’m not really that kind of person, I’ll have it in my pocket….but on low. The show finished and we enjoyed some beer and Baja Fresh Burritos, they’re like Chipotle, only better in some ways and worse in others. Please keep in mind I’m not too critical though. Tonight I’m seeing some of my fellow crew for the last time, as they head to another tour, so we’re going out to this little place in downtown Boston. When I say little, I mean it, it’s about 20×15 in it’s largest and holds maybe 20 people tops, including the tender. Cheap drinks, and it’s easy to see the TV and hear the Jukebox, should be fun. Well, signing off from Boston, and MY last North American show on this leg of the tour. When next I write about the tour, I will be in…. Brussels, Belgium. Enjoying Stella Artois’ and trying to figure out what the heck they’re saying on the TV… Guten Abend! (ok that’s German)
