tobacco heritage days
This past weekend (July 21-23) was Tobacco Heritage Days in my hometown of Edgerton, WI. Jen and went home to see my family and to partake in some of the festivities. Friday night we hung out at my parent’s house and my brother stopped in at the start of 3rd shift for the EPD. Saturday morning Jen and I got up and went to watch the big wheel races that were being held for kids at the High School which is just on the other side of my parent’s backyard. It was as interesting, but we missed the really little kids, and they’re the best because they go the wrong way, hit each other and fall off sometimes. I did get a picture of one real contender. Saturday night we had a water balloon fight and delicious fish dinner at my brother’s house in nearby Janesville. After the kids went to bed we went across the street to his neighbors for a “bonfire” in the driveway. Sunday was lazy and we just went and watched the parade. Saw some cool things there, like a 4×4 golf cart and the “Bucket Brigade” from the New Glarus Fire Dept. The do tricks and climb ladders in the middle of the road. I also got to take my nephew Daiten for a ride on the Chappy, a moped that was my grandpas before he passed away. It was a good weekend and relaxing. Always good to hang out with my family. Here’s some pictures.
