last train to Kentuckiana
Ok, so it’s a plane. And yes they really do call it Kentuckiana. Anyhow, I’m heading to Louisville for the week again. I am not gonig to NYC which is unfortunate, because that is the one peice of business travel I was actually looking forward to. I mean come on, Wired NextFest would be the coolest. And to get to go for work and actually work there? That’s even better. Well, I’m writing this as I dodge a little more work, but I’m sure it will catch back up to me. No real updates here, worked and cleaned the condo this weekend. Nothing too exciting unfortunately. We did go out on Friday for one of my coworkers 21st birthday, that was good times and I got to hang out with some friends at Markus’ new house. I rocked guitar hero for the after party, while Jen used a blanket to help hold the couch to the floor.
Have a good week all, I’ll probably have some more later. I get to play with Linux for work some more, yeah!
man I need a vacation
So it’s a good thing Jen and I have one planned! We’re going to go to California again to see our friends Erich (San Francisco) and Mark and Michelle (Carpinteria). I’m excited because we’re going to fly into San Francisco, hang out for a couple of nights then drive down to Carpinteria which is like an hour north of LA. It will be warm, one week and fun so I’m pumped. I’ve been traveling a lot for work lately, primarily to Louisville, KY for the opening of the Geek Squad City. I also got to go to St Louis for a secret mission for Geek Squad. It was cool and I met and worked with some nice people down there. I got to visit a really neat place that makes all sorts of crazy stuff.
In other news, Jen and I are thinking about getting a little Yorkshire Terrier or Yorkie. I’m excited about it because they seem pretty cool and it will be nice to have a little doggy in our window. Roof Roof!
I’m also trying to find a way to get a new Apple Mac Pro workstation because they’re freakin’ awesome. Hopefully it will also play games, so that I can sell my Uber Powerful PC workstation to bolster my funds. If anybody has any ideas on how to make $3500 in a couple of hours let me know, because that’s how I’d like to do it.
Well that’s it for this friday edition, have a good weekend and I’ll see some of you real soon.

it’s like I’m on tour again
Tonight I’m in St Louis. I have a special project I’m working on that is getting worked on here tomorrow. Next week I’ll be in Louisville for Geek Squad City and New York for Wired NextFest. The week after that I’ll be in San Francisco, Carpinteria and Los Angeles. Then finally I’ll be back in Minneapolis for a while. OK, I do actually get to go home tomorrow and I’ll be home until Monday, but it’s still a fair amount of traveling. Well, I’m off to bed, it was a long day and new cities make me tired.

walk don’t run…
to dinner. Jen and I decided that we would take advantage of the pleasant fall weather tonight and walk to get some dinner. We went to Applebees because they have a salad she likes, and well I’m a BIG fan of the boneless buffalo wings. I just happened to bring my camera (S200) which is a “relic” of sorts being that it was my first digital camera and still holds it’s own. It seems small again, now that I’m carrying a digital SLR when I specifically go for pictures. Anyhow, here’s some of the photos, with a little retouching.
We live just off the “Midtown Greenway” which is essentially old railroad lines (29th St Track) that was converted to 2 lanes of bike and 1 lane of walking/running path. It’s pretty nice and allows us to get to the lake with little chance of getting hit by a car. It is pretty much a freeway and I think it’s something like 10+ miles long for this section. The twin cities have several well cared for pathes and hundreds of lesser cared for, but still easily usable paths.
the first step…
is admitting you have a problem. Jen and I have finally admitted this. We’re working to fix the issue now, with the resolution that we have twice as many as necessary. “This one’s for the car”, “This one’s for running”, “I use this one on the plane”, “This one has special meaning”, “This one still works, it was my music”. These are all phrases commonly used by us, to justify the problem. Well, no more. We’re having a fire sale and cutting our inventory.
Now I just have to hope that she doesn’t figure out I have a similar problem with computers and DVDs.

gotta get better at this, I’ve just been so busy lately. That’s what we all say, right? Well, I think I’ll be making a outlook calendar appointment to do at least Monday updates or something. Well, the first one is now set, so I’ll be back Monday.
